Auschwitz Concentration Camp

Network of German Nazi concentration and extermination camps, Auschwitz was built and operated by the Third Reich, and consisted of Auschwitz I (original camp), Auschwitz II–Birkenau (concentration/extermination camp), Auschwitz III–Monowitz (labor camp to staff an IG Farben factory), and 45 satellite camps.

“Gloomy post for a traveling site” you may think, but traveling is not only about happy, sunny places. It is also getting to know a country’s history, which always has its dark periods.
