Allison's Done-that list:

Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kyoto, Japan

This is a must see if you are in Kyoto. I traveled with four friends, staying in an Airbnb on the other side of Kyoto. It took us 30 minutes to walk to Fushimi Inari but it was so worth it. The shrine is on a hill and there are a multitude of different paths up the hill you can take. Each path takes you through different smaller shrines. Many tourists were there taking pictures; however, there were also locals there to meditate. The further up the path you get, the less people there are. The shrine is “famous” for its the bright red/orange gates.
