Allison's Done-that list:

Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Wow! Angkor Wat, meaning temple city in Khmer – the language spoken in Cambodia – is beautiful. We arrived mid day and wandered through the grounds. This site requires good walking shoes as there are lots of steps among a large swath of land. While it is swarming with tourists, you can still spot monks wandering the paths and taking a moment to pray. There is an opportunity to be blessed by a monk, which is free although giving a small donation is typically seen as the proper thing to do. I totally suggest doing this, it is fascinating and an experience you cannot get easily!! Our group went mid day; however, we also went back the next morning to watch the sunrise over the temple mount. This was beautiful as hundreds of people sat on the grounds within the city walls waiting for the sun to come up over the center of Angkor Wat.
